Asia has been the US next focus after a decade of war in Iraq and Afghanistan as a result of China’s military expansion as well as its aggressive stance on maritime territorial disputes with other countries.

America has previously planned to send more than half of its fleet to Asia Pacific with its LCS being deployed to Singapore. The F-35B stealth fighters will be deployed to Iwakuni AB in Japan by 2017. Iwakuni is an air station for United States Marine Corp (USMC).
