Jan 3, 2013- In his speech in conjunction with the coming of 2013, TNI-AU Chief of Staff said that as one of the component of national defence, TNI-AU will continue to expand in tandem with the nation’s dynamic growth regional strategic development. The Air Force’s strength would be one of the component that could become the bargaining power in the effort to solve conflict between countries.
A total of 102 new aircraft including surplus Lockheed Martin F-16 Falcon, KAI T-50 Golden Eagle, Embraer A-29 Super Tucano, Airbus Military/IAe CN-295, surplus Lockheed C-130H Hercules, Grob G 120TP, Eurocopter/IAe EC-725, KAI KT-1 Wongbee and Boeing 737-500 would be inducted into service within the next few years.
Embraer A-29 Super Tucano 16 KAI T-50 Golden eagle will be procured by TNI-AU KAI KT-1 Wongbee Indonesia is the first export customer for Grob G 120TP 6 former RAAF C-130H are expected to be acquired by TNI-AU. Another 4 of similar aircraft have also been donated. Malaysia Flying Heral
