Iran threatens "There will be no Israel left on world's political map"

The Iranian military's Chief of Staff warned that Israel would be wiped off the "the world's political map if they do anything wrong."

Iran's army chief of staff warned Israel it faced annihilation if the country does "anything wrong", as he attended a military parade in Tehran to mark National Army Day.

"We see Israel's threat as a scream that comes out of fear," said General Hasan Firouzabadi.

"If they do anything wrong, there will be no Israel left on the world's political map."

Also attending the event was President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who said "foreign presence" was the source of insecurity in the Gulf and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway through which about one-fifth of the world's oil supply passes.

Iran, on the other hand, he claimed, has "always guarded security" in the region.
