Russian Pacific Fleet unit to call at Vietnam’s Cam Ranh port

A unit (photo on the left) of Russian Pacific Fleet ships heading for the northwestern part of the Indian Ocean for an anti-piracy mission will make a business call at the Vietnamese port of Cam Ranh, the Russian Navy Main Headquarters told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.

"In performing its oceanic mission duties, a Pacific Fleet unit led by the anti-submarine vessel Admiral Panteleyev will pay a business visit to the Vietnamese port of Cam Ranh," a headquarters spokesperson said.

The fleet is heading for the northwestern part of the Indian Ocean for an anti-piracy mission

The Russian ships will call at this former Russian naval logistics base to replenish their supplies and enable their crews to take a rest.
